Filling shifts
Goal: "Get every open shift covered by the right caregiver, fast." Offer shifts to well-matched caregivers, let CareQB sort the replies, and keep track of what still needs you.
How it fits together
- Open shifts come from your schedule or from callouts. CareQB spots callouts in texts, voicemails, and VoiceAI calls, confirms the shift with the caregiver, and then, depending on your settings, starts finding a replacement or prepares a request for you to review.
- A fill-in request offers one shift to the right caregivers. A grouped request covers many shifts in one message, and each caregiver sees only the shifts they can work.
- Matching decides who's asked. Skills, preferences, and schedule conflicts rule caregivers out; best matches and A-Tier caregivers come first; exclusions are removed; and qualitative matching scores the softer fit.
- CareQB sorts the replies (accept, question, decline), and you assign the shift in a couple of clicks.
- The Requests tab shows everything in flight, so you can see what's still waiting on a reply.

Where to start
Start with Filling an open shift. Once that feels familiar, try grouped requests for busy weekends, and make a habit of checking the Requests tab. To fill shifts on a weekly schedule, see Recurring workflows.
